Ambassador Irina Bokova was part of the Bulgarian delegation headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Sergei Stanishev, at the 63rd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York
Within the framework of the 63rd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where discussions were held regarding the achievement of the Millenium Development Goals, Ambassador Irina Bokova was part of the Bulgarian delegation headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Sergei Stanishev.
Together with Mr Ivailo Kalfin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Ambassador Bokova attended the meetings with Dr. Denzil Douglas, Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, with Sir Louis Straker, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with Cheikh Tidiane Gadio, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Senegal, with Mr Sam Kuteesa, Foreign Minister of Uganda, with Mr Bernard Membe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation of Tanzania, with Mr Koffi Esaw, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Togo, with Mrs Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, and with Mr Eduardo Calix, Deputy Foreign Minister of El Salvador.
During talks with his foreign colleagues, Minister Kalfin presented the candidacy of Ambassador Bokova for the post of Director-General of UNESCO.
Within the framework of the 63rd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Sergei Stanishev, met with United Nations Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki-moon.
